Stucco Painting
Mediterranean stucco is the signature finish in Venice. We repair cracks, match texture and repaint in warm earth tones or your association colors, with two full coats.
Read moreOur Venice office on Croton Dr puts a crew close to most Venice homes, from the island's Mediterranean-style houses to villas and newer communities east of the Intracoastal.

Venice was planned in the 1920s by John Nolen with a Northern Italian look, and that style still sets the tone on the island: warm stucco, barrel tile, arched openings and decorative ironwork. Many newer homes and buildings borrow the same vocabulary. Our painters work on everything from original 1920s houses to condos along the Gulf, villas east of the Intracoastal and newer homes off Jacaranda Blvd and Laurel Rd.
Because our south county office is here, Venice homeowners get the same crews that work out of Croton Dr every day. Many owners are seasonal, so we often run exteriors while they are up north and keep them posted by phone. Common requests include stucco repaints in earthy Mediterranean tones, fascia and soffit repair, pool cage coatings and interiors for homes that recently changed hands. Every quote follows a walk-through of the property.
On the island of Venice, older homes from the 1920s sit near mid-century block houses and low-rise condos within walking distance of Venice Ave and the beaches. Original stucco on the oldest homes can be thick and textured, with many coats of past paint, and pre-1978 layers may contain lead. Patching has to match the existing texture closely, or the repair shows through even after two finish coats, so we take our time on texture work before any color goes on.
East of the Intracoastal Waterway, Venice is largely villas, manufactured home communities, golf course homes and 55-plus neighborhoods, with newer subdivisions toward I-75. Most are block-and-stucco with tile or shingle roofs and screened lanais, and many sit under associations that set exterior colors and repaint cycles. For those, we work to the approved schedule, and for villas we coordinate shared walls and rooflines with neighbors so the building finishes as one. Golf course lots add open sun on the back of the house, which fades lanai walls and pool cage frames faster.
The island takes Gulf wind and salt directly, which wears down south and west walls, rusts railings and leaves a film that must be washed off before painting. East of the Intracoastal the salt eases but the sun does not: UV fades bright Mediterranean colors and dark shutters fast. Summer storms and humidity encourage mildew under eaves and on lanai ceilings. We schedule exteriors for dry stretches and plan around hurricane season from June to November.

Warm stucco tones such as sand, terracotta, ochre and soft cream suit the style, with darker trim and doors for contrast. Check whether your street or association has its own rules first. We can walk the house with you, put samples on the wall and look at them in morning and afternoon light.
Yes. Many Venice owners leave for part of the year, and we handle exteriors and interiors while the house is empty. We agree on access, scope and colors before you go, keep in touch by phone and photos, and lock up after each day. You come back to a finished house.
Yes. For exteriors we work with the board or manager on scope, color schedule and resident notices. For individual units we handle interiors, following building rules on hours, elevators and parking. Your manager can phone the office, or you can call us directly about your own unit.
