Furniture and floor protection
We move furniture away from the walls, cover it in plastic, lay canvas drop cloths on floors and tape off tile, cabinets and fixtures so the only thing getting paint is the surface we are painting.
Walls that look tired, scuffed or dated make a whole house feel older than it is, and patchy touch-ups from past owners never quite match the original color.

Interior house painting means moving and covering furniture, repairing nail pops and dings, sanding and priming patches, then cutting in and rolling two finish coats on walls, and ceilings or trim if you want them. In Sarasota we also pick sheens and paints that hold up to humidity, air conditioning cycles and bright window light.
Most interior repaints we do around Sarasota start with a house that is not in bad shape, just worn. Hallway walls carry hand marks, a previous owner's beige has gone flat and dull near the windows, and every patch from a picture hook shows as a dead spot when the afternoon sun hits it. Fresh paint fixes all of that, but only if the prep comes first. Our painters spend a good share of each job filling, sanding and spot priming so the final coats lay down evenly and the walls read as one smooth color from any angle.
We work in occupied homes constantly, so the routine is built around you living there while we paint. Furniture is grouped in the middle of each room and covered, floors get drop cloths that do not slide, and outlet covers and switch plates are bagged and labeled. At the end of every day the rooms are usable again, brushes are cleaned outside, and nothing is left wet where a pet can brush against it. If you are a seasonal owner, we can handle the whole job while you are up north and talk you through it by phone.

Nail pops, anchor holes, dents from door handles and hairline corner cracks are filled, sanded flush and spot primed. Larger damage gets proper drywall patching so it does not ghost through the new color.
Water stains, smoke film, glossy old enamel and big color changes all get a dedicated primer. Sound walls in the same color family usually do not, and we will tell you which is which.
Brush work at ceilings, trim and corners is done by hand rather than relying on tape for everything, so the line between a white ceiling and a colored wall stays crisp and straight.
Walls get two full coats rolled in consistent sections to avoid lap marks and flashing. Two coats give true color depth and a tougher surface than one heavy coat ever does.
Rooms are put back in usable order each evening. On the last day we walk the house with you, mark anything you want touched up with small tape flags, and fix it before we leave.

Gulf Coast humidity does not stop at the front door. Homes that sit closed for months while owners are away, or that run the air conditioning hard and then shut it off, see moisture collect on outside walls, in closets and behind furniture. That is where mildew spots and peeling start. For bathrooms, laundry rooms and lanai-facing walls we use paints with mildew-resistant film and a satin or eggshell sheen that wipes clean. We also check that walls are dry before painting, because paint rolled over damp drywall never bonds properly.
Light is the other factor. Big sliders and west-facing windows throw strong afternoon sun across living rooms, which fades some colors and shows every roller mark in flat paint. Cool whites can look icy in that glare, while warm grays can drift toward green. We bring large painted samples and look at them in your rooms at different times of day before committing. In block-and-stucco homes with plaster or knockdown textures, we also adjust roller nap so the texture fills completely without leaving pinholes that catch the light.
We look at every room you want painted, note repairs and stains, confirm colors and sheens, and agree on a room order so the parts of the house you use most are finished first.
Furniture is moved and covered, floors and fixtures are protected, hardware comes off, and walls are washed where grease or film would stop new paint from sticking well.
Holes and cracks are filled and sanded, caulk is renewed where trim meets wall, and stains or patches get primer so nothing bleeds through the finish coats later.
Edges are brushed first, then walls are rolled in full-height sections while the edges are still wet. The second coat goes on once the first has dried to the right point.
We check each wall in raking light, fix any thin spots, reinstall covers and hardware, put furniture back, and walk the finished rooms with you before calling the job done.
We price interior house painting after seeing the job, and the written quote lists every item below that applies.

A single bedroom is usually a one-day job. A full three-bedroom interior with ceilings and trim often runs about a week, depending on repairs and how much furniture is in place. We schedule rooms so you always have a bedroom and the kitchen available, and we give you a clear day-by-day plan before starting.
Yes, most of our customers do. We use low-odor waterborne paints, keep fans running and windows cracked where weather allows, and work through the house in a set order. Each evening rooms are put back together enough to use. People with pets or newborns sometimes prefer to be out for the day we paint their bedroom.
For most living spaces we recommend eggshell or a washable low-luster matte. Bathrooms, laundry rooms and kitchens do better in satin because it sheds moisture and resists mildew. Flat paint still makes sense on ceilings and in low-traffic rooms where hiding wall imperfections matters more than being able to scrub.
We do it regularly. You give access through a lockbox, a neighbor or a property manager, we send photos at key points, and we confirm colors with you by phone. When the job wraps, we lock up, set the thermostat back to your preferred setting and leave the house ready for your return.
